The clients were the Girl Scouts of NYPenn Pathways located in Ithaca, New York. Orchard Hall aims to encapsulate the Girl Scout experience while accommodating for a flex space or multipurpose use.
Anna Comstock is embodied in the spirit of Lake Cayuga. She’s telling you, “Explore, leave the shoreline, let nature and instinct guide you, wander into the forest with glee: for you can always
find your way back, just follow the water and I’ll be here waiting.” Users will experience this discovery as much in the interior as they do outside.
The conference space is located in Ithaca, New York. The space was intended to be an addition to the existing Camp buildings. Based off of geographical and environmental challenges, the site’s form was made to be a trefoil like form with pointed roofs.
The conference space both provides for interior activities for the girl scouts and visitors. Girl scouts and the staff can use the space for arts and crafts, dining, and lectures. When the center is rented out, events like weddings, conferences, and ceremonies can be held.
